At the beginning of the game tutorial, you can choose from one of two basic avatars — Garvel or Julia. After that, if you want to switch to a new Hero, you'll need an "Unlock and change" item. Once you've unlocked a Hero, you will no longer need to use the "Unlock and change" item to switch to them. Instead, you'll have to use the "Change avatar" item.

 

 

If you haven't yet unlocked the desired Hero avatar, follow the instructions below.

 

Select the icon showing your Hero's avatar to open the Hero and Captain selection menu.

 

 

Tap the icon for switching avatars, which is immediately above your current Hero.

 

 

Swipe between the greyed-out avatars to select the one you want to unlock. 

 

 

Once you're sure about your selection, use an available "Unlock avatar" item or purchase one for 1M Gold to use it straight away.

 

 

Once you've used the item, the desired avatar will be unlocked and will immediately replace your current Hero.
